Youth Empowerment
& Poverty Reduction

Our Goal:

To enable youth and marginalized populations to achieve
dignified, self-reliant, and sustainable livelihoods.

Empowerment for Sustainable Livelihoods

Poverty and social exclusion remain among the greatest barriers to human dignity and holistic well-being. Across Kenya and beyond, millions of youths and marginalized groups, particularly women, persons with disabilities and minority communities, struggle with limited opportunities for employment, enterprise and meaningful participation in social and economic life.

The Empowerment for Sustainable Livelihoods Programme is a transformative initiative by Rechem Care Foundation, designed to empower these populations through skills development, entrepreneurship, inclusion and psychosocial resilience.

Grounded in Rechem’s holistic approach to mental health and community empowerment, this programme recognizes that economic empowerment and mental well-being are inseparable pillars of human flourishing.

When individuals gain the capacity to generate income, make decisions and participate fully in their communities, their confidence, hope, and sense of purpose grow, thus creating a ripple effect of positive change.

Expected Impact

  • Increased employment and self-employment among youth
  • Growth of sustainable micro and small enterprises
  • Improved household incomes and economic resilience
  • Increased inclusion of marginalized populations in decision-making Stronger, locally owned economic systems.

Why This Programme Matters
