Climate Justice & Environmental Rights
Programme Rationale
Marginalised communities in Kenya continue to face the worst impacts of climate change while having limited knowledge and access to platforms to claim their environmental rights. Weak enforcement of environmental laws and low civic participation further undermine climate justice.
Programme Goal
To strengthen community capacity to understand, claim, and defend environmental rights while promoting inclusive climate justice.
Key Interventions:
- Community trainings on climate justice, environmental rights, and legal frameworks
- Civic education on environmental governance and accountability
- Youth- and women-led climate justice forums
- Media-based awareness campaigns (radio, community dialogues, schools)

Flagship Projects:
- Youth Enterprise & Skills Acceleration (YESA). Equipping youth (18–35) with vocational, digital, and entrepreneurial skills while linking them to mentorship, financing, and markets.
- Marginalized Voices & Livelihood Inclusion (MAVOLI). Empowering women, persons with disabilities, and minority groups through inclusive livelihoods, savings groups, advocacy, and leadership development.
